Speaking & Appearances

I lecture about many of the topics I cover in my books and magazine writing: defining “nature” and “wildness”, the future of conservation, how to cope with overwhelming feelings around environmental loss, the ethics of our relationships with nonhuman animals and ecosystems, and related topics. I’ve given many talks to large groups and I’ve also created interactive small group sessions where participants can share their own feelings on these complex and emotional topics. In addition, I also really enjoy helping scientists communicate their own research to the public, and I offer interactive workshops in writing for the public, pursuing media coverage, and considering science writing as a career.
